Recommended reading and commentary: Ding Lang's "To the Spirit with the wind in the Night"
I walked through the evaporating street at dawn.
I saw history on the street last night.
The flashing light sweeps over the burning eyes.
The erupting liquid penetrates the stone on the side of the road.
So many colors only leave gray smoke,
So many voices only leave silence.
People are standing on the side of the road in large groups.
Watching the flowers turn into mud,
I am desperately looking for it on the road.
Where did the old bicycle I stayed by the road go?
Where is my friend~s bookbag which stay in the square?
The lips of dawn are blue and red.
Morning fog is like a green account wrapped in the city.
Mother calls the child in the citywall,
My heart, my heart is floating on the sky.
Hu Comment: This is a poem that mourns the undead of 8964. The poet's "tonight" and "last night" let us return to the fierce "street".
