An Introduction to Asia Political Philosophy Culture Press Publishing
Established in 2013 by publisher Tao Yan-Sheng and managing director Lee Wen-Chin, Asia Political Philosophy Culture Press Publishing issues works across the fields of politics, culture and philosophy.
Amongst our notable early publications was 'Assassination of the Buddha — the Truth about the Death of His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama’ by exiled Chinese author Yuan Hongbing and Tibetan poet Namloyak Dhungser. The shockwaves that this book caused upon publication are still being felt to this day. We have subsequently published an ongoing series of Yuan Hongbing’s Collected Works, numbering twenty new and republished books to date.
As well as the above mentioned series by Yuan Hongbing, we have issued a number of works whose importance has been recognised in cultural and academic circles, including the world’s first Chinese-language historiography of Tibetan studies, Namloyak Dhungser’s ‘An Introduction to the History of Tibetology’; the 10th Panchen Lama’s ’70,000 Character Petition’, until recently suppressed by the Chinese government; ‘China’s Best Actor: Wen Jia Bao’ by Yu Jie; and the ‘Reminiscences of Chang Fa-K’uei: An Oral History’, based on English-language interviews with the renowned figure in the KMT general held in the Columbia University Library.
We welcome authors with works that are unable to be published in China for political reasons to seek us out via whatever channel so that their work might reach the reading public.
