    Plaintiff’s statement

My name is Xiaokelati Wusiman. I would like to bring a lawsuit against all the above mentioned defendants for all the hardship they caused in my life.

Before I came to America, the Chinese government had persecuted me a few times in China. After I came here, I still got a lot of persecutions form local organizations. they separated me form my family to do investigations on me.

My ex-wife in Washington invited me to come here and I got to Vienna Virginia with my 14 year old son on the 29th of March. I stayed with my cousin because even before I came to America, my ex-wife was arranging to get a divorce form me and she was very reluctant in terms of doing the paper work for me to come here. Even of (in spite of) the persecutions I got in China, I still tried to work with my wife and try to keep our relationship going. After I got here, I found out that she had got a lover and she wanted to divorce me. The only reason she sent the invitation letter to me was because of my cousin’s boyfriend’s efforts.

After I got the visa form the American Embassy in Beijing, I got Arrested by the government police and they held me for eight days. They tried to force me to confess that I was trying to overthrow the Chinese government, spread opposition ideas against the government and sell revolutionary books ( I used to have a book store in Kazakhstan in Russia). They also asked me whether I gave the rebels some government secret materials. They also said that my book store was the center of the rebels and I helped them to separate the country. They asked me why I had got arrested in Kazakhstan and had been put into jail and finally got deported. I answered all the questions and accusations in a calm way. First of all, the book store was approved by the governments of both Countries and the National Science Institute of Kazakhstan designated me for book selling. If they wanted to charge someone for it, then go to the government officials who were in charge of it. In terms of the jail term in Kazakhstan, I did not even know the reason. I did not do anything illegal. It might be because the police there wanted to get some bribe money (which is not unusual there). But in my heart, I believe that they might be afraid that my upright behavior and the books I was selling might “wake up” the Uyghur People there. They could not find any evidence to prove that I did anything against the Chinese government, they therefore released me.

After all these incidents, I gradually realized that it might be because of my ex-wife and her daughter. Before I came to America, my ex-wife always used her daughter as her excuse for not inviting me here. My cousin later on told me that my ex-wife told everybody around her that I was not her life partner even though at that time we were still married. She said that the marriage certificate was just trash and she just used it for the convenience to bring me to America. She was trying to make it easier for her to make her next move.

While I was in prison in China, I thought it might be because of my step-daughter’s biological father, who was an official in the Chinese government police department. My parents called America and everybody therefore knew it. My cousin and her boyfriend pressured my wife to rescue me and she had to compromise in the face of that pressure. After I got out of jail, I thought about the whole thing again and by the way I did not push the envelope. I asked my brother to apologize to my ex-wife and she used it to show that she had nothing to do with the whole thing.

Before I left China, my cousin called me and told me some ugly things my ex-wife did in America and one of my cousin’s friends advised me not to tell my ex-wife when I was coming to America in case my ex-wife telling the customs in the airport to refuse me to enter in to America. I did not know what else to do I just listened to my cousin and her friend. When I got off the airplane, my cousin, her husband and my cousin’s friend were there to meet me. After greeting them, I asked to call my ex-wife immediately to tell her that I was in the airport. Nobody answered the phone, and then I left a message on her recording machine. I waited for her phone call the second day, then I called her again. This time she answered and she was nice. I chatted with her a little bit and apologized a few times to her for not letting her know in advance. I also told her that I would apologize to her friends as well so she would not lose face, but she refused to see me. I asked quite a few times and she finally agreed to meet me. I asked my cousin’s boyfriend to drive me to see my ex-wife, he was very reluctant and finally he drove me there. I saw my wife and asked to sit down to talk to her. But she was very stern and she said she would not accept my apology and she wanted a divorce as soon as possible no matter how I tried to explain things to her. She said that I used her to come to America. She was unreasonable, and I had to give up trying to explain anything to her. I wanted her to cool down a little bit and I would like to talk to her again in a few days. After that, my son and I lived in my cousin’s house and they were nice to us on the surface. My cousin was very phony and her husband just kept his distance from us (treating us like strangers). In the beginning, I did not mind it thinking it was just the way he was. After a while, I realized that my cousin was flirting with me. I was so embarrassed and of course her boyfriend was jealous too. I began to think about the real reason that my cousin wanted to bring me over. My cousin encouraged my ex-wife to ignore me and she even interested in my personal life and she tried to give me some hints as well. I was embarrassed but I could not say anything because at that time both my teenaged son and I had to stay with her. She used the advantage that I had to rely on her at that time and she thought that I would go with her because of her good living standards. Her boyfriend got very suspicious and he hired a private detective trying to find something out between me and my cousin. My cousin’s behavior made me suspicious as well about what happened to me in Kazakhstan and China and even in America. I also heard something from people around us.

I tried to get out of the situation I was in, and I tried to make up with my ex-wife. Both my cousin and her boyfriend were strongly against it for their own reasons. After I requested my cousin’s boyfriend many time, he agreed too introduce me to a guy who was the cousin of my cousin and her boyfriend boss at work. We told the guy that we would like him to talk to my ex-wife and try to convince her to make up with me. He asked some detailed questions and said he would visit me where I live. When we were ready to leave, my cousin’s boyfriend asked a very strange question, he said that my ex-wife had a part-time job with a Taiwanese merchant and asked whether he could get a part-time job there as well. The guy said, “of course”. The question seemed to be nothing at that time, but when I thought about it again. It was quite suspicious. The guy came to me one day and said: “since your cousin and boyfriend are around, why do you need some else to try to convince your wife?” .The guy invited me to his house one day and I went there. He embarrassed me in front a lot of people in his house, and I thought he might have done it because of my political status. I was very unhappy. My cousin saw my unhappiness and she got mad at her boyfriend. Of course the boyfriend got angry at me for the situation at home. He thought that both my cousin and I were on the same side and we were plotting against him. He started giving me trouble and trying to stop me from interacting with other people and he hired some private detectives to investigate me. After I found out the whole thing, I realized that my cousin’s boyfriend had already suspected my cousin’s political intention. The fact that I was in America was just proving his suspicion towards my cousin.
